Disney Plus has been out for a few months now and if you're like me who subscribed the day it came out, then you might be thinking that you have exhausted everything on there already. Maybe you watched the full seasons of Lizzie McGuire and That's So Raven like I did (embarrassingly quickly might I add) or maybe you've watched all of the Marvel films and now you're stuck and looking for inspiration... if so, have a read at my recommendations of what to watch on Disney Plus down below.
The Imagineering Story
It would be rude to not to start off with where it all began - The Imagineering Story. The Imagineering Story is a 6 part series that takes the viewer on a journey behind the curtains of Walt Disney Imagineering from the opening of Disneyland in 1955 to the most recent opening of Shanghai Disneyland in 2016. Ultimately, The Imagineering Story is an enjoyable, emotional and inspirational series which acknowledges the milestones and struggles the Disney Empire experienced. This series was the first thing I watched on Disney Plus and has a special place in my heart. If I can only recommend one series, for me it is this one!
Disney Fairytale Weddings
Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings is a documentary television series featuring couples and their Disney-themed weddings. Money is definitely no option for these couples which makes for a very extravagant day to be remembered. If you're looking for a very easy watch that tugs on your heartstrings, then look no further. I think I binge-watched the first series in about 2 days. My favourite episode was The Circle of Love ♡.
Frozen II
Frozen 2 is finally here! First of all, can we just take a minute to recognise that we have been waiting 7 years to have the Frozen sequel finally on our screens? Yes, that's right, Frozen 1 came out in 2013! My mind is blown.
Now onto the film, dare I say it, Frozen 2 beats Frozen 1 for me! The animation is more mature, ambitious, and intricate. It's visually stunning. The soundtrack is more infectious than the first soundtrack and 'Into The Unknown' and 'Show Yourself' are my favourite tracks, however, will they top the nation's favourite 'Let IT Go'? Only time will tell.
Into The Unknown: Making Frozen 2
Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2, is a 6 part documentary that follows the producers, animators, artists and songwriters behind the scenes during the final 12 months of the production of Frozen. For the first time, cameras were there to capture everything from the initial complexity of making a Frozen sequel through to the world premiere on November 22nd 2019.
I've had such a fascination with Disney animation for such a long time and I really get a kick out of learning how a film comes to life. It takes a lot of hard work and determination to make something that isn't real life very much believable.
Get ready to delve behind the scenes of the most successful Disney animation film of all time.
Let me know if there are any series that you think I will enjoy!
